Calle Ocho Music Festival
Who among us hasn’t flocked to the Calle Ocho Music Festival? Well, it’s back! What’s been described as Miami’s largest street festival and Hispanic festival in the country, promises to once again deliver. Boasting 20 blocks and 10 stages, be prepared to take in one live, vibrant performance after another, featuring all types of music – merengue, bachata, reggaetón, hip hop, and more. And don’t forget to post pictures of yourself dancing salsa among the big crowds.
Miami Film Festival
It’s a great time for movie buffs in Miami. The annual Miami Film Festival is already in full swing and will continue through March 10. Run by Miami Dade College, this year’s festival puts diversity in the spotlight. And the offerings are huge – 171 feature-length films, shorts, and of course, documentaries. Now in its 36th year, the festival gets better and better each year.
Tennis, anyone? The best tennis players in the world will converge on Miami later this month for the Miami Open, a premier tennis event. This year, the two-week event will be held at a new venue – the new Hard Rock Stadium, also the new home of the Miami Dolphins. You can catch Naomi Osaka, Petra Kvitova, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, and many more go toe-to-toe on the tennis field.
